As previously described in our last post the ILD, or Institute for Liberty and Democracy, is a non profit organization responsible for developing assets of the poor from the extralegal economy to the inclusive market economy. The overall function of the ILD is to travel to and observe the poor nations of our world and analyze the economy’s malfunctions and how the people interact within this economy. Though the organization is based in Lima, Peru, it is responsible for the development of numerous poor nations’ economies over the course of 25 years. Hernando de Soto, the President of the ILD, is a world renowned economist who has worked with many different governments to implement beneficial economic programs in those countries. In relation to the International System, the ILD functions as a major contributor to the economy of many poorer countries including those in Latin America. The affect of the ILD on the world is extremely positive and will hopefully expand into many other parts of the world to improve the political and economic issues that exist everywhere today.
