To us, International Relations is more or less what the word entails, the relationship between International governing bodies, ngo’s, mnc’s, etc. The relationship between these different entities provide us with a greater understanding of the formation of social and economic policies, wars, and culture. The relationship between the members of the world community have a lot to contribute to the understanding of IR, and to truly be able to be someone who understands IR, you must be able to understand different cultures, traditions, and most importantly people. The people of the world play the biggest role in IR as they are the ones who make decisions that affect the world positively or negatively and in essence IR is the study of why people make the decisions they make and how they effect the international community.

The ILD relies on financial institutions such as the World Bank to help fund the economic reforms they propose for different countries. Without the ability to borrow money, there would be no possible way to fund economic reformations. Countries who decide to impose reforms from the ILD more than likely need funding, for the reforms, and hence the world bank plays a role through the ILD.
